The objective of training in Midwifery is to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to become competent and compassionate midwives. Here are some key objectives of training in Midwifery:
Comprehensive Knowledge of Reproductive Health: Midwifery training aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of reproductive health, including the physiological, psychological, and social aspects of women’s health throughout their lifespan. It covers topics such as anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, menstrual cycle, contraception, fertility, and the management of common reproductive health issues.
Antenatal Care: Training in Midwifery focuses on providing quality antenatal care to pregnant women. This includes assessing the health status of the mother and the developing fetus, conducting physical examinations, providing health education and counseling, and monitoring the progress of the pregnancy. The objective is to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the baby during the prenatal period.
Intrapartum Care and Delivery: Midwifery training aims to develop skills in providing care during labor and childbirth. This includes recognizing the signs of labor, monitoring the progress of labor, providing pain management techniques, and assisting with the delivery of the baby.
