Who we Are

FOMIC Polytechnic University is one of the educational institutions within the FOMIC Group and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education of Cameroon. It Campus “A” is located at Sand Pit, Great Soppo Buea and Campus “B” opposite Orange Molyko Buea, Southwest Region of Cameroon.

FOMIC Polytechnic Buea was created by the ministerial decision number 12/0638/MINESUP/SG/DDS OF 23 NOV 2012. Following the creation, the institution was authorized to operate by ministerial decision number 13/0584/MINESUP OF 02 DEC 2013. FOMIC Polytechnic Buea was authorized to run the Bachelor of Technology and Masters programme under the mentorship of the University of Bamenda (UBa) following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UBa and FOMIC.

FOMIC Group

FOMIC GROUP represents a group of academic institutions that provide world class training in a wide range of academic disciplines. The group is constituted of two main schools – FOMIC COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL and FOMIC POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY.

At FOMIC GROUP, we believe that commercial, general, and technical-industrial education is necessary to build the kind of national development that our country needs. Noticing the acute shortage of vocational and technical secondary educational institutions and the even very limited chances students from these institutions have to further their studies at the University level; we strongly believe it is time to contribute to meaningful professional education in Cameroon.

FOMIC GROUP has engaged itself to using a group solution to handle this need. With our group solution, we are providing opportunities to young men and women to acquire knowledge using a deductive approach. Graduates from the comprehensive high school as well as other institutions within the country will find easy transition into the Polytechnic to pursue career education thereby ensuring continuity.

Our comprehensive training program makes our school ideal and very competitive. In our forms 1 to 3 we introduce pupils to all the fields and guide them towards specialisation as they move to higher classes. Upon graduation from high school our students may between an academic program (HND or Bachelor’s degree) and a professional program like CPA, CPS, ACCA, etc. A student who enrolled as a form one pupil at FOMIC COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL has the opportunity to graduate as a Certified Public Accountant, ripe for the industry!

Admission into our full time program is highly motivating because of our incredible performance at the GCE and professional exams. While FOMIC COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL is an accredited examination centre with the GCE Board, FOMIC POLYTECHNIC BUSINESS SCHOOL is an accredited tuition and examination centre for professional examinations by KASNEB

Our mission is to provide quality need-based teaching and research, to instill in our students a lifelong probity and hands-on intellectual insurance, to address dynamic development needs the backdrop of national and international socio-economic and environmental challenges. To implant in our students the Anglo-Saxon values which are based on the Oxon-Cantab system without sacrificing the gains of cultural diversity.
